Left Bank

The Left Bank zine is a meaningful narrative about the chaotic nature of Kyiv’s left bank, conveyed through original texts and diverse visual practices, primarily photography.

The book’s artistic and documentary texts act as friendly guides, helping to rethink unique urban phenomena and uncover a hidden aesthetic universe, while also allowing readers to experience or share the personal reality of life on the left bank.

The zine, largely a photobook, promotes a number of important ideas — decentralization of Kyiv, urban exploration, civic activism and the preservation of cultural heritage. At its core is the idea of offering an alternative perspective on the Left Bank, revealing it from a new and unfamiliar angle.

This project represents an ongoing search that highlights the hidden diversity of architecture, monumental art and iconic locations found on the city’s “mystical” left bank.
