Politics for Beginners #2

(No, you absolutely do not need to read the first issue to fully enjoy this one.)

The project “Politics for Beginners” was created as an embodiment of freedom of voice and free thought. The publication reflects every possible emotion and desire, dreams about the future and the pain of the present. It began as a small absurd joke that eventually had to become something bigger. The result is a zine / essay collection by young Ukrainian authors writing about life, society, philosophical dilemmas, cultural phenomena and of course politics.

To some extent Politics for Beginners acts as a reflection of a new generation — with its current knowledge, anxieties and ideas — aimed at marginalized students and office workers who still carry rebellion, hope and life inside them.

“Politics for Beginners” serves, in a way, as a reflection of a new generation — with its current knowledge, problems, and ways of thinking — aiming to engage marginalized students and office workers who still carry rebellion, life, and hope within them. Before you is the second issue of the publication, where you’ll find even more politics, even more sex, even more feminism, as well as several texts written by anarchists. Inside are 19 texts by 14 authors, accompanied by illustrations by the project’s curator Bohdana Kovalchuk and designed by Olia Kuzovkina.
