The novel “The Richynski Sisters” is a historical snapshot of the first half of the 20th century, seen through the eyes of women who no longer want to live in a patriarchal world and step out of the confined domestic space into the wider world.

After their father’s death, five sisters find themselves face to face with real life. In the second book they try to understand how to survive in this turbulent sea. Radical actions, resentment, unmet expectations, betrayal by those closest to them — not only external circumstances, but relationships themselves become a challenge.

This novel captures a turning point at the beginning of the 20th century when the patriarchal world was breaking apart. The collapse of the old order is reflected in the destruction of the family home — once seen as an unshakable fortress.

This is the second of three volumes of the novel.
