This monographic issue was created in collaboration with Stephen Shore — the first living photographer since Alfred Stieglitz to be honored with a solo exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Stephen Shore is one of the key figures in the history of conceptual color photography. He laid the foundation for the “everyday” photograph and redefined banality through a restrained documentary language, helping establish photography as a fully recognized art form. His works focus on form, time and space, inviting the viewer into a mode of attentive and active observation.
