The Mykolaiv Regional Museum of Local History. Selected Objects

An album featuring selected exhibits from the Mykolaiv Regional Museum of Local History, created by the social projects and media agency Platfor.ma in collaboration with the museum, aims to draw attention to Ukrainian history while raising funds for the museum’s restoration and development. The album was released in a limited edition of 200 copies.

The Mykolaiv Regional Museum of Local History is one of the largest local history museums in Ukraine — it houses over 400,000 exhibits. In September 2022 the museum building was severely damaged by heavy shelling, restoration of the exhibition is still ongoing. War makes it especially important for museums to remain visible. After all, museums preserve national memory, shape cultural identity, challenge myths and inspire Ukrainians to engage with their own history.
